Staff Scientist & Software Engineer (2 positions)-3D Imaging
My client is a very stable company that is experiencing strong growth in the 3D imaging arena. They innovate/design best in class products for both the commercial and defense marketplaces. They have a strong track record in designing Biometric solutions and are a leader in the field. These positions will require inidividuals to play highly visible roles within a small team environment. Staff Scientist-Imaging (1 Position)
Duties:
Advanced Imaging Division provides intelligent surveillance and medical imaging for government agencies such as DOD and NIH. Our surveillance systems can be on stationary platforms, UAVs, UGVs, or USVs. We are looking for a highly qualified individual to assist the Division Director in expanding our business activities for this division.
You must have a strong technical background or business experience in the field of image processing, computer vision or any related area. A unique image processing system generally includes intelligent algorithms, specialized optics, and embedded hardware - especially DSP/FPGA hardware.
We are looking for a strong motivator and innovator in any of these areas. The individual will work closely with the Division Director to generate new business by generating proposals (e.g. BAA, SBIR, and NIH) for various government agencies.A wining track record in proposal bidding is a strong plus. We are also interested in any individual who may not have a very strong winning record yet possesses a strong desire to excel. Some management experience is also a plus but not a must.
Summary of Desirable Attributes:
- Strong technical writing skills
- Intelligent surveillance (e.g. detection, tracking) and/or 2D/3D recognition
- Ability to work effectively with small groups
Software Engineer (1 Position)
Knowledge of C++ and object-oriented programming are essential, as are excellent communication skills. Extensive experience with multi-threaded programming, 3D graphics, and real-time determinism issues is highly desirable.
Desired Skills for the SW Engineer Position
- Proficiency in VC++ programming including good GUI design skills
- Strong skills in algorithm development for 3D image processing, display, and rendering.
- Experience in camera/sensor driver programming, multi-sensor integration, and rapid prototyping a plus.
- Familiar with OpenGL and DirectX
- Experience with software documentation
- Work well independently and with a team
Required Skills:
- Experience with computer vision or image processing
- Strong programming skills in C or C++
