Raytheon Professional Services, located in Dallas, TX is looking for an excellent Sr.Training & Development Specialist. Job Description: This position reports to a Lead Instructional Designer as a member of a cross-functional team and is responsible for the analysis, design and development of training materials and courseware as well as curriculum analysis. The courseware and/or curricula may be produced for many different industries and will be delivered in an increasing variety of delivery media including: Web, Interactive Distance Learning (IDL), Virtual Classroom Training (VCT), or Instructor Led hands on. Limited travel to support development and validation of course materials may be required. This individual is responsible for analysis, design and development training materials and curricula that: - are instructionally-sound, - grammatically correct, - consistent with approved style guides. - meet customer expectations - communicate learning concepts effectively - and are completed in accordance with project plans a schedules. Required Skills: - Five years or more experience as an instructional designer producing WBT and ILT (Instructor Led Training) materials - Experience researching content, gleaning information from technical, soft skill, and business documentation, engineering personnel, or other technical subject matter experts - Ability to plan and enhance initial and existing designs - Demonstrated experience writing learning objectives - Demonstrated experience writing and organizing content to support learning objectives - Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects - Demonstrated experience applying the ADDIE model to course development in a professional/business environment - Demonstrated experience organizing content using creative message design principles - Accepts responsibility for courseware development, timelines, and budget activities, as assigned - Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems - Effectively works as a member, and may lead a cross-functional team to ensure training materials target training and business requirements and meet all quality control standards - Demonstrated experience organizing and laying out content visually, including detailed graphic design instructions - Demonstrated experience applying knowledge of commonly-used concepts practices and procedures within Instructional Systems Design - Ability to perform design/development duties with no coaching and adheres to instructions and pre-established guidelines, as assigned. - Ability to assume some leadership responsibility by coaching and mentoring other ISD team members, performing quality assurance activities to ensure standards are maintained, and updating or creating project plans for team activities - Excellent writing skills; (use of language, grammar, spelling, organizing content) - Excellent software skills in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel - Limited travel to support the development and validation of course materials may be required.
