Sr. Test Technician
Macrolink, a leading designer and manufacturer of high performance military and commercial-rugged electronic enclosures and computer systems has an immediate opening for Sr. Test Technician. This position performs a variety of non-routine tasks to ensure production quality standards are met by conducting tests on company products.
Responsibilities
Confers with engineering personnel to resolve fabrication problems relating to specifications and to review test plans such as types and cycles of tests, conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and duration of tests.
Under general supervision, performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
Is able to read, interpret, and understand software and firmware code listings as an aid to troubleshoot complex problems to the component level.
Uses analyzers, oscilloscopes, DVM's, etc. to assist in component isolation, and to effect efficient repair of the device under test.
Performs hand set-ups for AC and DC digital tests, recognizes failures and set-up problems and determines need for appropriate verification.
Coordinates and participates in installing unit or system to be tested in test fixtures, connecting mechanical or electrical controls, cabling, power source, and indicating instruments.
Activates controls to apply power and subject test item to successive steps in test cycle.
Monitors controls and instruments and records test data for engineer's use.
Prepares written reports and may make recommendations for procedural changes.
May provide work leadership and/or train lower level employees.
Recommends changes in test methods or equipment for engineering review.
Requirements
Two or four-year technical degree; with two+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LabView experience a plus.
