Sr. Systems Engineer - MCSE Preferred
This position is located in our CO, Ft. Carson facility• Analyzes and Assesses a site's current server, network, load, power, and facility environment • Designs and Optimizes server configurations & network topologies • Analyzes requirements and prepares specifications for server hardware acquisitions • Prepares engineering plans and site implementation packages to document current, proposed, and final configurations • Develops hardware installation schedules • Prepares test and after action reports • Installs and Configures servers, software, network devices, and peripheral equipment • Develops, Implements, and Maintains processes and procedures for administration of production Field Servers • Performs onsite content and application consolidation • Provides basic support for site OU administration • Trains site personnel in proper use of hardware and applicable software • Provides support and administration for Field Servers located throughout CONUS • Manages backup and recovery of production Field Servers • Interacts closely with Service Desk, Tier I, and Tier II to assist in problem resolution Requires BS/BA degree.Educational Requirements: Degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, computer technology or computer engineering, or an applicable training certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent experience. Requires 5-8 years experience.Experience Requirements: Four years of intensive and progressive experience in a computer related field including support, development and design of Server and Network systems.Technical Requirements: • Minimum 2 years experience supporting and validating enterprise applications in an MS Windows 2000/2003, Visual Basic.NET, web, SharePoint and MSSQL Server environment • Proficient with analyzing and troubleshooting Windows Server operating platform/connectivity problems • Extensive knowledge into NTFS file systems, including configuration of RAID, NAS and SAN. Maintenance and propagation of NTFS shares and directory and file level permissions. Experience with Microsoft Distributed File System (DFS) is desired • Working knowledge of MS Windows Server 2000/2003, and MS-SQL Server 2000, Active Directory, integrated DNS and AD replication is required • An MCSE is desired • Script writing skills are strongly desiredAdditional Requirements: The position requires a self-motivated individual who communicates and works well with other team members to accomplish the team/customer goals. The individual must meet deliverable deadlines with minimal supervision, but take direction well when it is given.
