Sr Systems Engineer II (APS)
The APS is part of a suite of capabilities referred to as "hit avoidance", which, in the context of military ground combat vehicles, are technologies that provide the capabilities to defeat threats fired at the vehicles before they impact. The APS program is a three-phased activity leading to delivery of an effective, tested, and producible APS capability for current force and FCS manned ground vehicles. Job Description: This systems engineer will be responsible for the following: * Perform analyses and trade studies to ensure that the proposed design solutions are optimized to meet APS program and technical requirements. * Develop performance specifications for the APS to satisfy the base system, short-range countermeasure (SRCM), and long-range countermeasure (LRCM) requirements. * Work with Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) to develop functional requirements and specifications for the control of the CM launch system. * Flow down and allocate functional and physical requirements to APS subsystems and components. * Interface with customer representatives and support technical interchange meetings. * Support APS demonstration and related IR&D activities. This engineer will support the Systems Engineering Cross Product Team (CPT) and the Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in developing the following work products: product specifications, requirements derivation analysis documentation, and technical performance measures (TPMs). This individual will also work with project design engineers to develop subsystem requirements and component-level specifications. Required Skills: * Must have a background and proven competency in the development of requirements for radar systems and/or the integration of RF sensors with weapon targeting systems * Must have excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and be able to effectively communicate with IPT leaders, hardware and software development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and customer representatives Must have an existing secret clearance Desired Skills: * Systems engineering experience on military radar / RF systems and/or missile systems * Experience with standard systems engineering tools including DOORS and Synergy * Proficiency in the use of analytical tools such as MATLAB and MATHCAD is a plus * Prior hardware or software design experience Required Education (including Major): B.S. in Engineering or related field (M.S. / graduate degree preferred) Raytheon is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, gender, age, color, religion, disability, veterans status, sexual orientation, or any other protected factor.
