Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer
Plans, organizes, coordinates and reports on supplier quality related activities on Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Systems (ISRS) programs to assure fulfillment of program quality imposed requirements. Coordinate, track, review and analyze supplier corrective action reports to assure completeness and ability to improve supplier performance. Review purchase orders/supplier statements of work (SSOWs) from a Quality Assurance prospective during release process to suppliers in order to assure compliance with defined requirements. Basic Qualifications & Education: - Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Technical Major from an accredited university - Minimum of 4 years of related experience - Possess a broad understanding of the various quality disciplines with a strong background in quality engineering and project management. - Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality systems (ISO9000:2000 and AS9100). - Proficient verbal and written communication skills in order to: - Interface directly with internal and external customers and suppliers. - Conduct effective presentations at meetings - Submit succinct reports/summaries to a variety of audiences - Ability to travel to suppliers' sites to resolve product issues (includes local and domestic travel) estimated travel about 10% of time. - Ability to work independently with little oversight, selecting assignments aligned with long-range goals and objectives, and pursuing courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. - Ability to work in a team based environment. - Ability to interpret raw data and manipulate data into meaningful Quality metrics. - Ability to utilize Microsoft Office suite programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint and generate charts, graphs and create presentations of metric data. - Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. Desired Skills: - Experience in the area of Procurement/Supplier Quality - Knowledgeable of interactions with other functional organizations (Operations, Engineering, etc.) - Demonstrated ability to identify problem root cause and initiate/implement effective short-term and long-term corrective actions. - Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and apply decision making skills with minimal supervisory intervention. - Experience in developing and maintaining customer and supplier relationships - Six Sigma background. - Existing Secret clearance. - ASQ certification (CMQ, CQE, or CQA). - Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) knowledge and application is a discriminator. - Familiar with AS9102. - American Society for Quality (ASQ) certified preferred: CQE, CQPA, CSSGB, other ASQ certifications.
