Sr. Reliability Engineer (1310)

Description



I. Primary Function

Provide technical expertise in the areas of failure analysis and reliability engineering. Conduct detailed root cause investigations of reliability and safety related complaints for medical devices.

II. Duties and Responsibilities

* Investigate complaints by performing failure analysis on returned parts

* Design experiments and perform engineering analysis to determine root cause

* Perform component level failure analysis using expertise from R&D and outside laboratories

* Trend and report failure analysis findings to identify new issues or systemic discrepancies

* Design and execute experiments aimed at understanding failure mechanisms

* Provide input for product and process improvements based on failure modes and corrective actions

III. Specialized Knowledge & Skills

* Basic knowledge of circuits and troubleshooting

* Knowledge of circuit level failure mode

* Experience with electrical test equipment and data collection methods (e.g. LabView)

* Knowledge of electronics assembly methods

* Data analysis and trending using graphical and statistical tools

* Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, Minitab

* Must have strong English skills, both written and verbal IV. Experience

* 5-10 years experience in the area of failure analysis and quality engineering at high-reliability product companies, preferably in the manufacturing of electromechanical assemblies
