Sr Quality Assurance Eng II
The Senior Quality Engineer works to ensure process effectiveness and product quality through out the product life cycle from design through post delivery support. The engineer will be provide program / process oversight with emphasis on continuous improvement. The engineer engages early in program planning stages to ensure flow down of Raytheon and contract program requirements both internally and to suppliers, ensures compliance with contract program requirements, quality requirements and programs. The engineer reviews practices, procedures and processes seeking avenues to improve efficiency and effectiveness and reduce risk to product quality. Analyzes, interprets, trends and executes improvements on key metrics. Identifies systemic performance issues ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective solutions are identified and implemented with closure plans. Ensures proper investigations were performed prior to closure of issues. The engineer will work closely with other business functions to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills. Reviews major deliverables to ensure contract compliance prior to delivery to customer. Tasks will include interface with customers to ensure compliance and resolution of any reported issues including reviewing major deviations and waivers, acceptance test results and all major anomaly conditions. This individual will be assigned quality engineering duties for on one or more programs. Specific duties and responsibilities -Provide inputs to proposals, labor bids and/or technical proposals. -Develop QA Plans consistent with contract requirements to implement and maintain an AS9100/ISO 9001 quality management system at the program level. * Review and approve program requirements documents and plans. -Ensure process and product integrity on the project: Conduct process and product evaluations and assessments including support of engineering design peer reviews, supplier evaluations, audits to program plans, Raytheon procedures and the AS9100 standard. -Perform root-cause analysis, participate in development of corrective / preventive actions and drive continuous improvement -Metrics based decision making, analysis, and prediction of future program performance * Review purchasing documents to ensure the proper flow down of requirements to the supplier. Interface with suppliers to facilitate resolution of supplier quality and technology issues. Develop inspection plans for supplier items and assemblies. Perform supplier surveys to ensure they are capable of meeting the purchase order requirements. * Identify, contain and disposition nonconforming material (products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications). Determine the cause and responsibility for nonconformance and work with responsible parties to drive corrective action. * Interface with the government and/or customer in the sale of products and serve as the primary focal point for quality issues. Be an internal 'voice of the customer' during internal reviews and decision making events. * Participate in program formal reviews and internal reviews. * Participate in program change review board activities. * Lead and/or participate in Program Gate reviews (Gates 6 - 10). Required Skills: -8 years of engineering experience in a hardware/systems development environment -Minimum of 3 years of practical knowledge and experience of assembly/manufacturing operations. -Demonstrated experience in quality improvement and hardware development disciplines. -Demonstrated experience performing supplier assessments.
