Sr. Project Engineer - Los Angeles, CA
Description:Eaton Corporation located in Los Angeles, CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for a Sr. Hydraulics Project Engineer. . This position will perform conceptual design and development of fluid control valves, regulators and reservoirs, as well as electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic actuators for various commercial and military applications, including nose wheel steering, landing gear control, general aircraft hydraulic systems, and other similar applications. Must possess working familiarity of fluid and structural analyses / mechanics. Successful candidate will be able to lead a project from initial design conception through the design phases, up to and including qualification and transition to production.Duties And Responsibilities:- Establish appropriate flow-down of aircraft requirements to system or component level. Ability to understand system specifications, layouts and functions and the interfaces to other platform systems. Assist in review and refinement of system or component specification(s).- Determine component sizing and develop component specifications using customer data and/or own analyses.- Participate in system and components development process by identifying potential weak points, and develop solutions based on engineering judgment, inputs from Eaton experts, customer, suppliers and other systems partners.- Develop or use existing analysis tools for quick system analyses i.e. thermal, pressure drop, flow.- Define and coordinate system level analyses with Eatons Analysis group, including design for reliability.- Participate / lead as appropriate in meetings with the customer and other systems partners, distributing the results to the development team and coordinating actions as necessary.- Prepare technical documents and participate in labor / material estimating in support of proposal activities.- Prepare system documents, e.g. description notes, analysis reports, certification reports etc.- Prepare technical presentations for internal and external customers, including PDRs, CDRs, and other reviews as required.- Ensure information flow within the Eaton team and with other Eaton plants as appropriate to facilitate work flow, efficiency and quality of work results delivered to the customer.- Participate in the development of test and certification concepts for the system program.- Participate in the component / system qualification process in conjunction with the Eaton Test laboratories.- Establish design-to-cost models and track configurations to compliance with same.If interested, please apply online at www.eatonjobs.com indicating salary requirements/history.
