Job Description: The Hughes Air Defense Radar (HADR) program provides engineering support to their customers in Europe and Taiwan. This support includes technical research, re-design and consulting. Sr. Principal Systems Engineer is responsible for the following: Lead engineer for design, implementation and integration of Engineering Change Proposal's (ECP), Preliminary Design Review's (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR) process, Integrated Product Development System (IPDS), provide presentations to upper level company executives, and engineering management / senior technical lead engineers, be the lead engineer for all HADR systems and other radars as assigned. Expected to independently evaluate the radar sites and propose new applications for performance improvements and life extension, often working along side customer engineering and technical officers. Be able to direct local repair personnel when required. Employment is contingent on meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignment including comprehensive post-offer medical examination. Primary Responsibilities: - Work directly with customers as the lead engineering Raytheon representative. - Develop, lead and conduct radar training courses for customer military officers. - Interface directly with foreign military senior officers. Bilingual is a plus. - Lead the effort on radar business pursuits. Customer relations, experience with foreign governments and knowledge of the HADR systems is crucial - Serve as a primary technical consultant for the HADR Program Office, helping direct future business. - Expected to develop and present technical papers, IPDS reviews, and engineering program reviews. Required Experience and Abilities: - 10 years of radar engineering experience. - Must have in-depth knowledge of ground-based radar, with preference given for knowledge in S-band transmitters, antennas, and high voltage systems. - Experience with Traveling Wave Tube replacements with Solid State Amplifiers - Knowledge of high-power amplifiers required with ability to create new business in this technology. - Must be able to troubleshoot at system level above the Line Replaceable Unit (LRU), and diagnose down to component level in the Shop Replaceable Unit (SRU) assemblies. - Must be experienced with bench top test RF and automated test stations and be able to teach others. - Must be an expert with spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, four - channel storage oscilloscopes, power meters, signal generators, etc. - Must be familiar with and have operated modern digital analyzers. Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Security Clearance Requirement: An active SECRET clearance is required to start. Special Work Circumstances: - Able and willing to travel up to 12 weeks of international travel per year. - Able and willing to extend stays up to 30 days on occasion if in the best interest of the company and the customer.
