The Systems Validation, Test and Analysis Directorate (SVTAD) is the central focus for integration, test and validation activities within IDS . More than 1000 employees of SVTAD provide the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. SVTAD employees are involved in all aspects of test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem and component level testing through sell-off of IDS ' most sophisticated systems and technologies. Sr Principal Engineer for Air Defense Systems Test and Integration Premiere Air Defense Solutions Task Leadership Technical Decisions Mentor As a senior principal engineer and staff member in the Air Defense Systems department of the SVTAD directorate, you be responsible for ensuring that our air and missile defense systems are in an optimal state of readiness to provide premier air and missile defense capabilities important to our country and our allies. Your talents will contribute to the success of the world's premier Air Defense System. Your technical experience and track record of success in leading and managing the test and integration activities of major defense systems and/or DoD programs will play an important role in determining your success as you lead activities for one or more of our major defense programs. Basic Qualifications: * Minimum of 8 years as a Chief Engineer, Test Lead, Integration Lead or System Engineering Lead for one or more DoD programs with Command and Control, Radar, Launcher, and Missile components. * BS Degree in System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related engineering science degree Desired Qualifications: Master of Science in System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related engineering science degree - Ability to obtain a SECRET and/or Top Secret security clearance without ITAR concerns - Ability and willingness to travel to site for integration and test activities - Candidate can demonstrate the ability to understand and arbitrate the technical decisions of project-level engineers as they relate to the system design and performance - Good knowledge of the IDS products and technologies.. - Six Sigma Certified as a Specialist or Expert - Track record of excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills. - Candidate can demonstrate track record of solid judgment and decision-making. - Candidate can demonstrate time management: multiple tasks, priorities, and interrupts. - Candidate can demonstrate past track record of excellent follow through and persistence. - Good team player; builds strong relationships with others at all levels and effectively partners with internal resources. - 12 or more years of engineering and/or management experience - Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Product Development System/ Integrated Product Development Process (IPDS/IPDP), Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) - Proven track record in supervising and leading senior Project Engineers or IPT Leads Raytheon is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, or Vietnam era, or other eligible veteran status, or any other protected factor.
