Sr Principal Engineer, Systems

This position is located in our CA, San Diego facilityGENERAL SUMMARY: Performs engineering work associated with the analysis, design, and development of computer hardware, firmware, embedded systems, and/or operating systems; works under general supervision; performs additional duties as assigned.PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Performs systems development and design work for IBM's Maximo application.2. Develops custom application code using SQL and Java.3. May rovide input for documentation on new or existing systems.4. Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.5. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves operating/hardware system problems.6. Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.7. Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:2-5 years of Oracle PL/SQL. 2-5 years of Java or JSP. Experience w/ Maximo. Web based Programming experience. Bachelor's degree, or Certificate. Must be US citizen. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques.2. Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.3. Professional certification in one or more specific technologies may be required, depending on job assignment.
