Sr Info Sys Technologist I (NE IS PDM Site Support)
Candidate will be an integral member of the IS PDM team within NCS. This team is responsible for researching, piloting, & delivering Product Data Management, best practices, and support to the Engineering Community at Marlborough, MA. The position is a PDM subject matter expert role that provides hands on level 2 PDM support. The candidate must have the ability to interface with end users, solve application problems in a timely manner and champion the communication of solutions and system events notification to end users. Primary responsibilities include supporting the PDM engineering tools computing infrastructure and supporting our customers by providing answers to user's application-related questions. The candidate will be expected to learn and understand the engineering customer's operational environment and PDM Engineering tools. The candidate must be able to work well within a team environment and know when to engage the team to solve user problems. This individual will assist with technical issues for the transition of software from development to production by performing deployment activities, including hypercare, as well as planning, facilitating and communicating with the PDM team on the migration of legacy systems to Windchill. This individual will provide technical leadership and expertise for the transition of legacy PDM tool migration for PRACs and Optegra to Windchill, as well as MCAD migration to Windchill. The candidate will need to be proficient in working with the UNIX and Windows environments. The ability to do some scripting to automate engineering tasks is desirable. Working knowledge of the Mechanical Engineering tools environment, such as Pro/Engineer, Intralink and AutoCAD is a plus. This individual will assist the transition of MCAD support from Intralink to Windchill. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, application software and related procedures adhere to company standards and policies. Job duties include: * Working second level helpdesk support tickets by applying problem solving skills to resolve complex system related issues that can not be solved by first level helpdesk support. This means that you will be working by yourself in areas that aren't well understood by most helpdesk persons. * Updating/generating solutions in a database used by helpdesk support, customers and administrators. * Coordinating secondary support from other helpdesks, administrators, and developers. * Work in conjunction with programmers, helpdesk persons, and internal/external customers. * Supporting testing and data verification during test migrations or production migration. * Perform event notification, and act as the primary poc to interface with IDS shared services supporting PDM tooling for NCS. Required Skills: * Working knowledge of Windows XP, 2000, and the Unix Solaris 7 OS systems and must be able to demonstrate the system administration skills and knowledge on both platforms(vi, nfs, linking, tar, regedit, sql, process analysis) * Ability to diagnosis hardware and software issues * Good communication skills, both written and verbal * Ability to interface with end users, solve application problems in a timely manner and communicate solutions to end users Desired Skills: * 2+ years Windchill 8.0, 9.0 administration experience on both Windows and UNIX environments * Web administration knowledge for UNIX base Web Servers using Apache * Knowledge of Oracle and SQL * Knowledge of RSA Security implementation on Web Servers * Knowledge of a PDM application using a PDM Server and PDM Clients (Metaphase, Sherpa, PDMLink, Intralink.
