Sr Design Electrical Engineer

Position Summary:

Designs electrical equipment and products by performing the following duties for an aerospace company.

 

Duties & Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

· Prepares design proposals to customer specifications, customer request, marketing department request, or other method of communication of design requirements.

· Designs products as required by engineering projects or customer specification.

· Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics

· Directs or coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype units

· Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications

· Participates in activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems

· Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases

· Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget

· Prepares interim and completion project reports

· Responds to internal or external request for technical information

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

· Supervising technical staff involved in projects within area of assigned responsibilities.

· Technical staff include:

o  Technicians, Engineers, Engineering Aids or any other technical staff assigned to projects within employee area of responsibility

Educations and/or Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; OR five years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Computer literate and capable of using and learning several computer programs as required

 

Language Skills:

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Mathematical Skills:

· Ability to comprehend and apply principles of:

o  Advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory

· Ability to work with concepts such as:

o   limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems

Reasoning Ability:

· Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

· Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
