Sr. Clinical Specialist (1325)

Description



Everyone who works at our firm is participating in improving patients' lives. Our division is in the latter stages of developing a Class III implantable. These high-quality, state-of-the-art drug infusion pumps are sure to set the standard. Currently we are seeking a strong Field Clinical Engineer to support our organization.



 

Primary Functions:

1. Attend implants.  Provide OR assistance w/implant preparation, implant, filling and programming of company device implants & follow up.   

 

2. Attend refills for the first few refills at each center.  Coach staff in refill technique and determine whether a site is capable of refilling per protocol without oversight from the Clinical Specialist.

 

3. Prepare training aids and teaching materials.  Provide training for clinical sites including implant procedure device preparation, implant surgical procedures, programming and patient education and device use testing.  Train and verify clinical sites for refill.

 

4. Respond to issues and complaints rapidly.  Troubleshoot and resolve problems on site and in collaboration with the appropriate field engineering or in house engineering staff.

 

5. Provide cogent feedback on product performance and features for field issues, upgrades and new products. 

 

6. Participate in the preparation of manuals, labeling, protocol, CRF's, and site agreements. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Relay verbal and/or written complaints regarding company products to appropriate departments.



 2. Provide OR system programming assistance for company products & assistance for implanted device programming on patients performed in physician office or clinic settings.

   

 3. Supply necessary support w/programming all company products & coordinate the inclusion of additional corporate support as needed.



 4. This is a field position. While travel will be constrained to a geographic area, it will require episodic travel. Travel outside of their geographic area could occur on a regular basis.



 5. 'On-call' responsibilities will require use of a pager or cell phone.  It is expected the 'on-call' percentage to be 50%+ (excluding vacations).  On call will include nights and weekends.



 6. Provide timely & inclusive support along w/complete follow-up for all implants during clinical trials; leverage company resources to assure such support in case of schedule or availability conflicts.



 7. Provide individual & group training for hospital & physician office staff as identified.

 

8. Support contract Clinical Research Organization monitors with product specific consulting and advice. 

 

 Special Knowledge and Skills

 1. Operating room conduct & hospital, physician's office or medical field support knowledge. 

 

 2. Good verbal skills are of a primary importance. Daily contact with confused or concerned customers is the norm. Confident demeanor & poise are required.



 3. Experience with Clinical Research is required.

 

 4. Experience with FDA regulations is desired. 



 5. General computer skills in MS Office & Internet applications. A working knowledge to utilize these tools to prepare presentation materials & technical memorandums is required.



 6. Operating room conduct & hospital, physician's office or medical field support knowledge. 



 Required Experience

1. A minimum of 5 years working in a medical environment is required. If a candidate has training or education that is in a related area, it will be considered as a substitute for experience.



 Education and Training

 1. A four-year degree in a medical or technical field is desired. However, experience will be considered in-lieu-of a four year degree.
