Position Summary:  Plans and directs all aspects of organization's business development policies, objectives, and initiatives; responsible for developing new market initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing business opportunities.  Conducts financial feasibility studies and develops proposals for new and re-competing business opportunities.  May also be accountable for licensing initiatives and programs; duties include negotiating contracts, initiating proposals, and closing deals.  Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.  Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Leads and directs business development opportunities for capture managers (program managers), proposal development team, contracting specialist, human resources recruitment and consultants.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· In sync with the Director, establishes target growth revenues for Program Managers portfolios

· Ensures OTIS or designated comprehensive business development and capture software is current and displays all BD opportunities 

· Oversees the proposal development process

· Manages BD budget

· Represents LM/Eagle Group at conferences and on-site at customers’ locations; travels as required

· Builds team consensus for proposal development

· Establishes company pipeline in correlation to organic growth of company revenue 

 

Position Qualifications and Requirements

 

Education:  Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty; preferred Master’s in Business Administration. 

 

Experience:  Minimum of 15 years experience in project management, business development, marketing or related fields.  Preferred senior level military command/supervisory experience or civilian equivalent.

 

Training:  MS Office software, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. 

 

Skills:  Strong people and analytical skills.  Strong written communication skills.
