Software Data Engineer

The Systems Engineering Group (SEG) of QinetiQ North America provides high-value engineering, software solutions, logistics information management, flight training and IT technical support services to the U.S. Department of Defense, allied governments and select commercial partners.

The work involves supporting Army metadata schema submissions to the DIB Management Office (DMO) including review of the Data Asset Controlled Vocabulary, Data Asset Taxonomy, DDMS Core Crosswalk, Data Element Dictionary and XML Schemas for completeness, valid XML formatting, and compliance with the DCGS Metadata Schema Guidelines. In addition, the work involves collecting Data Asset Inventory and Data Visibility Plan from Army programs to submit to the DMO and providing input for the DMO's DCGS Discovery Service Controlled Vocabulary and Taxonomy. Other duties will be defined as necessary to work with other DCGS programs and the DMO to harmonize metadata and coordinate across the ISR domain.The position is a TS/SCI. The candidate must be able to obtain this level of security clearance once hired. Candidates for this position will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship required.QualificationsThe candidate must have a either a bachelor?s degree in either Electrical Engineering and or Computer Science with 10 years of experience and or Master?s degree in either Electrical Engineering and or Computer Science with at least five years experience in the implementation and integration of large complex software systems. Also, must have a working knowledge of military operational environment. Candidate must have a good working know of any one of the following software technologies: C, C++, and Java as well as distributed computing technologies such as Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture, etc. The position requires the candidate to have a very good working knowledge of the latest software technologies in the following areas: XML and data engineering.
