Simulation Systems Engineer- Aerodynamics

CEi seeks a Systems Engineer Level II-III- Simulation for our Wichita, KS office. Position will be filled at the level appropriately matching the experience of candidate selected. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages effort and time within the budget and schedule provided for the task. Understands customer requirements and prepares requirements documents. Prepares formal, controlled engineering documentation (ie. drawings, specifications, parts lists, interface control documents, test procedures, etc.). Prepares and presents design review material in support of technical interchange meetings with suppliers and external/internal customers. Ensures customer satisfaction in relation to projects. Supports system testing, trouble shooting, and problem resolution.  Supports flight testing, data reduction, analysis, and reporting.  Prepares test plans and reports. Complies with established QMS procedures.  Acts as the Lead Systems Engineer per procedure ENG0003 for very complex projects as determined by their Manager that affect multiple systems, involve several suppliers/teaming partners, and require frequent customer interface. Acts as Test Director when necessary/ Presents design review and technical interchange material to major customers. Reports project status periodically (actual budget/schedule vs. proposed budget/schedule). Reports progress in meeting customer requirements periodically. Mentors Level II Systems Engineers and provides direction and oversight, both technically and programmatically. Supports business development efforts both in preparation of quotes and proposals as well as sales efforts. Monitors and reports on customer satisfaction in relation to projects. TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Requires BS degree in a related technical field (Engineering or equivalent) 3-5 years of related experience in systems engineering.  Experience with disciplined systems engineering approach emphasizing requirements definition (including documenting the requirements, presenting and reviewing them with the customer, and refining the documented requirements.) Proficiency with Simulink and Matlab including the Control System Toolbox for system and subsystem modeling and analysis. Knowledge of airplane flight dynamics and control Desired skills include wind tunnel test program planning and execution, aero loading determination and distribution, performance modeling and simulation, flight test program planning and execution, flight controls development, and CFD analysis.  Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
