Simulation Engineer

The Simulation and Research Services Division within the Science and Systems Engineering Solutions Business Unit (SSESBU) in Lexington Park, MD (near the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division-NAWCAD) has an opening for an Aerospace Engineer. JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Simulation Modeler to work on hardware/software system integration and long-haul simulation connectivity using HLA. SAIC is tasked to develop various components of weapons systems and integrate them into a distributed network system, allowing crew members to train throughout the world, all interacting in a real-time simulation network. We are looking for personnel with real-time simulation, aircraft systems, and software development experience. REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering/technical field and 7+ years related experience. Required skills include distributed simulation experience, specifically a minimum of 3+ years of HLA experience. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) SECRET LEVEL Clearance. DESIRED SKILLS: Able to perform engineering activities such as defining system requirements, developing technical solutions, performing systems functional analysis conducting trade studies, and/or performing test and evaluation activities. Experience may include working with high fidelity, realtime simulation. May be responsible for the technical direction, leadership, and training of less experienced staff.
