JOB DESCRIPTION
Operations Control Division –Service Order Dispatcher
Position is full-time non-exempt (hourly) working with the Life Cycle Contractor Support for the Warfighter FOCUS (WFF) program under the Warrior Training Alliance (WTA) at the National Training Center (NTC). WTA brings to bear the full capabilities of many of the world’s best systems integration and engineering companies in the technical integration of live, virtual and constructive (LVC) training support. The WFF NTC is located at Fort Irwin, CA, in the Mojave Desert, approximately forty miles northeast of Barstow, CA. WTA operations support the NTC mission: to provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States military for success on the 21st Century Battle Field.
Responsibilities:
Receives, records, and distributes work orders to service crews upon customers' requests for service for the OCD manager. These may be on government furnished equipment (GFE) or facility requests for installation, activation, service, repair or de-installation. This action may also include articles or utilities purchased from wholesale or retail establishment or utility company. Completes records of information, to include training completions, and/or name, address, article to be repaired, or service to be rendered in MAXIMO. Prepares work order and distributes to service crew as required. Schedules service call and dispatches service crew. Calls or writes customer to insure satisfactory performance of service. Keeps record of service calls and work orders. May dispatch orders and relay messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other departments, using radio telephone equipment. Also may perform duties as the receptionist under the supervision of the OCD manager for the Commander, Operations Group to greet visitors, determine nature of visits and directing visitors to appropriate persons. Receptionist duties include the screening of visitors for security clearances, issue badges appropriate to clearance, media inspection, accountability, and control, and ensure badge is accounted for upon departure. Work may also involve other duties such as recording and transmitting messages; keeping records of calls placed; providing information to callers and visitors; making appointments; and keeping a log of visitors. May also prepare documentation in MS office products (memorandums, briefings, or database products), and perform other routine clerical work, usually while performing service dispatcher or receptionist duties, which may occupy the major portion of the worker's time. Responsible for the working with government customer, site management, and sub-contractors to ensure the physical security, personnel security (badge), access control, emergency operations center functions; management, coordination, scheduling, operations, maintenance, and overall activities of various separate and unique teams meet mission requirements at NTC. Adhere to the directives, memoranda, policies, procedures and practices implemented by the company, site manager, division manager, section, team leader. Support quality/ISO, security and safety training programs and directives.
Experience:
Required Education: HS diploma or equivalent
Desired Education: Some undergraduate work in business or education
Required Experience: Military experience in the processing of work orders. Experience with the operations of a single-position telephone switchboard or console, used with a private branch exchange (PBX) system to relay incoming, outgoing, and intra-system calls. This position requires experience associated with the schemes, scenarios, and maneuvers applied by the U. S. Army in the NTC training environment.
Desired Experience: Previous administrative or secretarial experience is desired. Experience in performing the maintenance, repair, installation and de-installation of Miles and Tactical Engagement Simulation (TES) equipment is desired. Experience in the use of MAXIMO and Microsoft Office software products is desired.
Desired Physical Abilities: Able to work long hours on a 7-day a week scheduled days, nights, and swing shifts. Must be able work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind), and climbing in or on military or commercial equipment. Must perform duty during MILES installation and de-installation periods as required.
Special Requirements: Possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License, and maintain Post driving privileges. Must be fluent in English, with ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documentation, schematics, and diagrams. Must be a U. S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. Must be able to lift a maximum of 50lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. May be required to travel CONUS/ OCONUS to support unit training. Must be deployable within CONUS for up to 180 days.
