Senior Test Equipment Design Engineer - Senior Electrical Engineer II Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Opportunities currently exist within SVTAD's Test Development Department, in the RADAR Test Development Section. The primary responsibilities will be Hardware and / or Software Test Program Set Generation on Commercial testers. Synthetic instrumentation has emerged as the solution of choice for many, and Raytheon is an industry leader in high-speed and high-performance RF and microwave test systems based on this approach. The primary responsibilities will be generation of RADAR test equipment. In this position you will draw upon your test equipment hardware development experience and test system software experience. This is an excellent position for a test equipment engineer who has RADAR test experience on high speed commercial testers or in digital test, analog test, RF test or power supply test and a desire to apply your skills to both hardware and software disciplines. You will be joining a diverse project team for the design and development of test equipment and test solutions for testing radar, sonar, communication, missile, combat control systems, subsystems and components for various programs within IDS . These products can contain Analog, RF, Microwave, Acoustic, High Power, and Digital Electronic technology and can also have Software (embedded, firmware, Signal Processing, VHDL, etc.). Test Development Engineers are involved from the beginning of product design as a concurrent engineering effort, continuing into supporting engineering design verification testing, production test and final system level verification and sell-off; includes in-plant or field testing. Typical test solutions include simulation, stimulation and data acquisition capability to provide stimulus and response test environments for verifying functional performance. Typical test systems encompass Hardware In the Loop Stimulators, Custom Automatic Test Equipment, Commercial Automatic Test Equipment, High Power, Mixed-Signal, Digital and Environmental Stress Screening systems, mechanical holding fixtures, adapters, and interface cabling and harnessing.
