Job Summary: The Senior Technical Writer is responsible, either individually or with other team members, for the writing of major portions of publication revisions, its contents, and business processes. The Senior Technical Writer also supports the complete workflow process to ensure successful completion of each revision cycle and distribution of technical publications. This includes support for various quality processes to ensure: Accuracy Ease of use Timely delivery of each revision cycle in the Technical Publication environment The Senior Technical Writer will be working under limited supervision. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: The Senior Technical Writer: Consults with internal and external customers and Engineering to identify the current materials necessary to create/revise technical manuals that support the department/corporate operating priorities. Provides input to Management on new processes or technology for integration into the Technical Publication business model. Develops complex solutions to overcoming the technology/technical issues introduced by outside suppliers for incorporation into existing manuals. Conducts, reviews, and analyzes the technical documents required in order to gain a thorough understanding of how complex systems operate and are required to be integrated into technical manuals. Oversees the daily operation of the internal department workflow and business process affecting the project/revision cycle. Ensures that all workflow and business processes are followed for issues related to producing and delivering technical publications and the Computerized Maintenance Program (CMP). Works with Management, other departments, and team members in the development of specific project data for incorporation into the Publications environment. Provides liaison with the following in order to obtain the necessary approval for technical information prior to its release to customers: Technical Operations Completion Center Production and/or Completion Engineering Service Center Provides input to Management on the development of complex new processes and workflow solutions to decrease department costs and/or new products to increase department revenue.
