Senior Systems Engineer: Intelligence RF /Satcom Systems Description:As systems engineer, you will serve as the sponsor's technical advocate, applying your technical expertise in the design of satellite and terrestrial RF communications networks (including surveillance, and reconnaissance systems), to provide detailed analytical design assessments of large space and ground-based systems. Your work will consist of design reviews, validation, and supporting recommendations regarding key engineering decisions.You will work with the sponsor to produce actionable engineering strategies that account for existing technical constraints, status of legacy systems, programmatic considerations, and other practical realities. You will establish and maintain a position of technical leadership and trust with the sponsor and the sponsor's contractors and program representatives.You will evaluate RF and Satellite communications systems designs, including communications management and processing, and their corresponding automation needs. Evaluate status of mission and capability enhancements as a result of development activities and design changes. Recommend design changes based on system performance estimates and other findings.You will conduct analysis of technical alternatives, and quantify design trades. You will evaluate and characterize design and system performance, and provide oversight of independent contract engineering support and progress against several massive development efforts.Qualifications:Requires a BS in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent. Ability to collaborate and work well on interdisciplinary teams. At least 10 years experience performing detailed (bit level) communications systems analysis and evaluations. Ability to design, model, and simulate complex RF systems. Knowledge of communications protocols and processing methods. Ability to critically evaluate communications related algorithms and software. Very strong communication skills - verbal and written. Desires an advanced degrees in related fields, related publications in peer-reviewed journals, participation on communications standards bodies. Experience with analysis of: Communications related process control, automation, data fusion, and distributed systems for coordinating activities. History of significant findings and community recognition. Familiarity with multiple communications technologies and associated processing algorithms.Special clearance requirements. Some minimal local travel will be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
