Senior Systems Andministrator

Primary Responsibility:  Shall provide technical engineering services for Net-enabled Command  Capability (NECC) lab activities at Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).  Specific responsibilities include: system administration support, to include patch updates, S/W upgrades, system backups, VMS updates and mitigation of IAVA vulnerabilities; responsibility for accreditation/SSAA updates; security test and evaluation coordination with DISA FSO to insure adequacy of systems being tested; technical assistance to include troubleshooting and problem resolution for network connect/disconnect issues, ports and protocol requirements, H/W setup/installation and space and power requests; equipment inventory management, S/W license tracking; H/W maintenance tracking; documentation and refinement of lab processes; maintains data files and control procedures for a system of 20 networked servers with a Windows, Unix, Linux mix.  Principal work location: Skyline Complex, Falls Church, VA.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: Demonstrated experience in managing IT architecture as an IT manager or systems administrator for a large scale production environment with duties that include clustering, replication, and disaster recovery. Solid UNIX, LINUX, Windows background with undisputed network administration (DNS, DHCP, etc?) and mail administration (SMTP, POP3, IMAP, virus management) skills. Ability to create, document, and enforce operational  procedures. Experience at DISA is a huge plus. Willingness to work on evenings and weekends as required to meet priority missions (uncommon).
Position requires a Bachelor?s Degree and/or eight years of equivalent experience.
MUST hold an active or current (within 2 years) Secret Security Clearance.
