Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Reference Code: S08-8943 Senior Staff Systems Engineer General Dynamics C4 Systems' National Systems Division (NSD) provides its government and commercial customers around the globe with integrated network and communication solutions for mission critical applications including satellite communication, satellite operations, network systems and information services, blue force tracking, homeland security, detection, surveillance, intelligence, and emergency response.Senior System Engineering position for wireless ground systems development. Includes developing Operational Concept Models, providing system requirements definition and decomposition, derivation and definition of high and low level system architectures to support system and subsystem development. Apply knowledge from a broad range of engineering disciplines to develop system solutions. Work with customers, users, and project teams to define, analyze and meet customer needs. Provide leadership and expertise in applying systematic processes to trade study, analysis, design, implementation, integration/test and logistics activities.BS degree in a technical field +10 years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience. Engineering degree preferred and advanced degree desired. - Minimum 5 years experience in Systems Engineering- Detailed technical knowledge and background in command and control, human system interfaces, IP networking, enterprise systems and architectures- Knowledgeable in current technologies associated with the domains above- Experience in integrating systems based around COTS technical solutions- Experience in leading or working in multidiscipline engineering teams- Ability to produce and manage Technical Performance Measurands- Capable of presenting technical concepts in easy to understand terms to large audiences that may or may not be technically astute.- Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skillsTechnical domain expertise is strongly desired in C4 systems, including system architecting and the full life cycle of system engineering. Previous technical leadership success on large system-of-system programs is desired. Has demonstrated strengths and experience in the following areas: - Systems engineering artifact generation (system requirements, systems design) and tools. - Experience SOA design pattern concepts is highly desirable. Understanding of service based architectures key.- Understanding of the entire life cycle of a large project with heavy SW content- Must also be able to lead small to medium size technical teams.Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
