Senior Staff Engineer - Systems Architect

The Senior Staff Engineer will interact with customers to translate their needs into high-level concepts, interactively refine those concepts into high-level requirements with the customer, and develop initial designs/solutions that will meet those requirements. The Engineer will translate those designs/solutions into detailed requirements and block diagrams, and identify ITT and non-ITT hardware and software products to fulfill that design. The Senior Staff Engineer will perform trade studies to validate hardware and software component selection. Must be able to lead a team of engineers and technicians to translate the potential solution(s) into detailed engineering and/or procurement specifications and author the technical portions of a resulting proposal to the customer. They will coordinate and support the other business support teams with subcontractor and material source selections and management review processes; as well as develop and present briefings to senior management, customers and their source selection representatives as required. Equivalent Education Level Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems, software) or equivalent experience. Master's preferred. Experience Required: Minimum 12 years experience in communications technology and systems integration. Minimum ten years experience in team/IPT leadership. Minimum ten years experience in Systems Engineering. Supervisor experience and previous military experience preferred.Knowledge Required: Thorough knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and techniques. Knowledge of US and NATO military communication technologies, standards and procedures. Knowledge of US and NATO command and control systems. Knowledge of US and NATO airborne, naval, and ground weapons systems, capabilities and operations.Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
