Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary:

 

The Senior Software Engineer, designs develops, and troubleshoots complex software programs for computer based systems. This individual performs system modeling, simulation, and analysis in designing software systems and collaborates with hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems. The Sr. Software Engineer provides input for documentation on new or existing programs.

 

The primary responsibilities will include the following:Report team progress to Engineering Team Lead, Software/Systems Manager or Program Manager May provide technical leadership over a small team of developersDevelop & maintain software plansAnalyze system requirements and create a corresponding set of software requirementsDevelop requirements based system level architecture and software designDevelop software to implement the design and develop automated unit tests to ensure that the software meets functionality requirementsParticipate in peer reviews of software designs and source codeProvide support in preparation and presentation of technical material for IMS customersDevelop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish the workPrepare reports and correspondence concerning project specifications, activities and statusConsult with customers and/or other departments on project status, proposals and technical issues such as software system design and maintenance

 

Technical Requirements:Experience implementing and unit testing object oriented designs in C# Experience architecting, designing, implementing and testing component based systems in C# & .NetUnderstanding of Win32 API, COM and .NET technologiesExperience developing and unit testing software using C# and JavaExperience developing and documenting system architectures object oriented designsIn-depth understanding of MS.Net framework and software development in C#Experience with Complex Multi-Threaded Architectures Experience with TCP/IP Socket CommunicationsExperience with Windows CE and Mobile DevicesExperience with Windows Media Technologies

 

Technical Preferences:Experience developing C++ software using LinuxExperience with Linux scripting languages, particularly bash and PythonExperience developing embedded software applications

 

Qualifications and/or Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related BS degreeMinimum of 4 years working in a system/software engineering capacityAbility to support software integration, as well as, system & acceptance testingPosition requires full competence in software engineering techniques
