Senior Software/Embedded Engineer

Defense & Security Systems:Sensis Defense & Security Systems division increases tactical capabilities through advanced radar detection and surveillance integration products. Customers include the worlds militaries as well as system integrators. Sensis Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer to be an integral member of the CSTB/RTSTB (Common Sensor Test Bed and Real Time Sensor Test Bed) team. The CSTB/RTSTB program is a scenario-based stimulation tool used to design, evaluate and test radar systems. The program includes data processing elements in a real-time environment using C++. Hardware within this system contains both embedded processors as well as a Windows-based PC running XP. Responsibilities will include contribution to software architecture design, new software design and development, modification of and integration with existing software, algorithm implementation, unit testing, verification, and documentation support. The individual will be essential to solving problems and will be looked to as a mentor for junior level software engineers. Individual will be responsible for adherence to the defined Sensis Software Development Process (including proper documentation and configuration management related activities), will support the Software Team Lead in the software development and in providing status to the Program Manager as required, and assist in task planning of existing and future opportunities. Education Required: BSCS, BSEE, BSCE, or equivalentExperience Required: 8+ years of relevant engineering experience in software/embedded product developmentExpertise Required:- Solid Object Oriented Software Design methods (OOAD) and Design Patterns- Strong C++ programming skills- Embedded real time in high performance design, VxWorks, Linux based solutions- Numerically intensive methods, particularly in signal processing, algebraic, trigonometric, array processing methods- Inter-process communications, low latency, messaging, gig baud communications- Adaptive problem solving methodology, experienced in deriving requirements from specification to fit within a solution of opportunity- Very proficient with various embedded processor / core architectures- Practical hands on approach to problem solvingIndividual must be responsible, self-motivated, and inquisitive, and must possess strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills. Effective time management skills are also required, as well as clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. The individual must maintain a strong commitment to doing quality work.Desired Skills:- Graphical User Interface (GUI) development- Windows environment development- MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class) Library experience- Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML)- Implementation of CORBA in distributed systems- Radar experience/knowledge- Software costing and estimation- Experience using Doxygen - Implementation experience with eXtended Markup Language (XML)- Experience or course work in mathematics, probability, statistics, and modeling methodologies- Software programming experience in the military/DoD domainTravel Requirements: NA Security Clearance Required?Must be able to receive US DoD Secret Clearance Sensis provides an excellent working environment offering advancement and professional growth opportunities, competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package.
