Newpoint Technologies is seeking a senior software developer to become a part of our product development team. Candidate will become a member of a very small team of top skilled developers producing new software modules for our flagship Newpoint Compass software suite. In 2008, Newpoint will be expanding its software suite to include 5 new modules in an effort to capture new market territory. The new modules will require C/C++, Java, PHP, and SQL/database skills.
Ideal candidate will be comfortable working on a very small team, and will have excellent communication skills to participate in design discussions. Day to day workflow will include design, coding and implementation, and white box testing. Candidate will be expected to be capable of working independently and overcoming unforeseen problems with his/her excellent troubleshooting skills. Our small company environment provides the opportunity for continually learning new software skills and technologies without getting “pigeon-holed� into a single area of development. The successful candidate be comfortable with doing independent self-study and research on new technologies.

BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required
•
Minimum of 5-10 years experience in software design and development required; 10 years experience is preferred.
•
5-10 years C/C++ experience required
•
5 years Java experience required
•
Working knowledge of SQL and one or more of the following database environments is required: MySQL, Oracle, and/or Microsoft SQL Server.

Experience developing web applications is very desirable
•
Multiple OS background is very desirable (e.g. Windows, Linux, or Solaris, etc.)]
Microsoft-specific technologies such as C#, .NET, Visual-Studio, VB, ODBC, etc. are not an advantage in this development position.
Compensation Package

Annual Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 commensurate with experience
