We are seeking a Sr. Project Engineer for our Northvale office.Primary Responsibilities: The primary focus of the Sr. Project Engineer is to provide the technical and engineering support for projects in electronic telecommunications and content distribution systems. The Sr. Project Engineer will have a solid understanding of systems integration methodology and turnkey projects with the specific knowledge of broadcast technology, IT and operations with a demonstrated success in working across multiple stakeholder groups.The position involves the conceptualization, planning, organization, and support of activities that result in the competed design of the highest possible caliber available within client budget that address evolving industry requirements as well as related technology development efforts. Responsibilities include supporting internal activities to develop system concepts, apply the appropriate technology defining system approaches; preparing and delivering briefings to management and others industry customers. Business interaction with potential industrial partners, project planning and support, and supporting contract efforts for systems development, risk reduction, and proof-of-principle demonstrations. Other responsibilities include overall technology and resource planning; and coordination of contributing personnel from various Product Teams and support organizations within the Division. Contributes to proposals and supports other business development activities with direct customer contact. Analyzes, evaluates, and plans methods of approach and organizes means to achieve the solution of complex technical problems. Suggests new approaches to problems encountered. Recommends corrections in technical analysis and design to ensure project completion. May supervise or coordinate the work of engineers, other professionals, technicians and others who assist in specific assignments.Essential Functions: • Work with Project Manager to develop overall project requirements• Perform engineering/integration and design of project• Develop system diagrams and cable assembly diagrams• Develop Bill of Materials (8CM) for all aspects of project• Work with Project Manager to establish project schedules• Assemble all vendor documentation in hardcopy and electronic form• Develop site layout drawings• Develop equipment rack elevation drawings• Develop testing requirements• Develop acceptance test documentJob Qualifications:• Senior level knowledge of electronic telecommunications and content distribution and storage designs.• Senior level knowledge and proficiency of systems installation and interoperability.• Working knowledge of monitor and control systems.• Extensive knowledge of ACAD.• Must have previous technical team leadership experience.• Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.• Understands the importance of client relationships, the benefits than can accrue and the impact on a project and company bottom line.• Looks to building collaborative relationships and utilizes collaborative tools that best meets the business needs of clients and the company.• Ability to understand communication styles of team members and clients who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.• Ability to coach, mentor, train, and lead personnel within a technical team environment.• Upbeat, highly motivated, experienced and resourceful work ethic.• Demonstrated ability to achieve results in an ambiguous and changing environment.• Computer knowledge/skills with the following: Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft Project Server, Share Point Server.• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.• Ability to travelWe offer competitive pay and benefits program, including: medical, dental & vision coverage, vacation & sick leave, 401(k), company health screenings and more.Ascent Media is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Requirements: Educational/Technical Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field or equivalent experience• Minimum five years experience in the design, development, and implementation of satellite earth stations and/or satellite networks• Demonstrated proficiency with Aut0CAD• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications including MS Project• Demonstrated experience with performing requirements analysis to plan, design, engineer, and implement networks• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both orally and in writing
