We also launch exciting new careers every day. Join us in bringing the benefits of space down to Earth! Serve as a professional authority in one engineering discipline or specialty area. Collaborate in preliminary and advanced design studies and prepare portions of engineering proposals. Conceive and develop solutions to analytical, design, and test problems that program(s) experience. Aid in establishing systems philosophy and design objectives. Analyze and resolve failures in test and service, sometimes without recourse to intense theoretical studies and test programs. Assure continuity of design features from advanced design through contract completion. Write major portions of complex specifications and engineering reports as a result of advance studies, special engineering investigations, and similar activities. Develop aspects of new theory and design criteria for general application. May lead subsystem design team within project to include technical, cost and schedule responsibility for assigned subsystem. Required Qualifications:BSEE (MSEE preferred) or equivalent with 12+ years of applicable technical experience in the field of spacecraft power and analog electronics design and familiarity with spacecraft Nickel-Hydrogen and Lithium ion battery technology, spacecraft solar arrays, solar array drives and solar array electronics with current or past TS/SSBI/SCI clearances requiredMust possess spacecraft power and analog electronics design fundamentals derived from hands-on experienceMust posses a strong spacecraft power subsystems background with experience top-level trade studies and in the development of HW specificationsMust posses experience in power regulation, distribution and switching; battery charge/discharge control, energy balance analysis and depth of dischargeMust have experience with S/C power system verification across all levels from component through spacecraft I&T to mission operations and in-orbit testMust possess good interpersonal skills as well as ability to communicate with engineers from various backgrounds.Preferred Qualifications:The candidate must have demonstrated proficiency in some of the following areas: Superior written and oral communication skills. Experience in technical management of a team of engineers. Experience in the generation and/or evaluation of basis of estimates for cost proposals. Experience in the coordination of the activities of a team of engineers, with the objective of meeting schedule deadlines and budgets. Prior supervisory experience, either in a formal role or in an "acting capacity."
