From either Corporate locations or facilities, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer (or Process Development Engineer) will support process development, process implementation, process improvement, and cost reductions, and will serve as a technical resource for maintenance, quality, product engineering and manufacturing.

• create product assembly plans, test plans, manufacturing process and operation documentation

• organizing, planning, commissioning and maintaining production lines with internal designers and outside Automation specialists

• improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes

• handling equipment purchase and installation

• investigating operational problems affecting production

• preparing manufacturing documentation required for product manufacture

• providing technical expertise and support

• providing manufacturing data

• coordinating projects

• running meetings with other team members

• potentially managing budgets

• daily troubleshooting

• liaising with engineering and other departments to produce cost estimates for new designs

• liaising with research and development departments

• familiar with APQP, OSHA, MIOSHA and JSA guidelines

• quality focused with good problem solving skills in an TS16949 manufacturing environment

• Initiates investigation of product problems indicated by the customer, engineers, manufacturing, sales and approves appropriate engineering change notices.

• Maintains affiliations with, and represents the company in appropriate professional, technical and educational groups.

• Assist with recruiting staff, managing and counseling for professional development of indirect reports for continuous improvement and advancement, including performance reviews, recommending appropriate training.

• Maintains a professional demeanor at all times.

• Maintains safety and housekeeping at all times.

Suitable candidates will have experience implementing manufacturing processes consistent with a standardized/published manufacturing policy (i.e. Toyota Production Systems).
They should have an understanding of one or more processes emphasizing:
-ASSEMBLY SYSTEMS
-INJECTION MOLDING

-METAL REMOVAL (Grinding, Machining, Milling, etc.)
-STAMPING
-HEAT TREATING-STAMPING
-TOOLING 
Lean and Linear flow assembly operations, asynchronous manufacturing are a plus. Strong working knowledge of Lean tools (5S, Kanban, Poka Yoke, TPM, Pull and Push, Value Stream Maps, FPS, andon…).
