Senior Integration and Test Engineer for Air Traffic Safety System

Sensis Corporation is comprised of two divisions:Air Traffic Systems:Sensis Air Traffic Systems division is a leading provider of surveillance, information technology, and simulation and modeling for the aviation industry with customers that include air traffic service providers, civil aviation authorities, airports, airlines and system integrators. Defense & Security Systems:Sensis Defense & Security Systems division increases tactical capabilities through advanced radar detection and surveillance integration products. Customers include the worlds militaries as well as system integrators. Sensis currently has an opening for Senior System Integration and Test Engineer in our Syracuse, NY office.This individual will assist in the testing and integration of products that save lives through air traffic control on airport surfaces.Responsibilities:Provide support to Test Leads across multiple programs / projectsDevelop and execute test approaches and procedures for hardware, software, and system level testingCreate test scenarios using various simulatorsConduct and support system integration in a laboratory environment and an operational environmentCreate and validate test toolsParticipate in product reviews and status meetingsConduct engineering dry runs, formal testing, and regression testingPerform data analysis, assist with test briefings, and write test reportsAssist in hardware and software troubleshootingGenerate and investigate problem reports, suggesting well-conceived solutionsIntegrate and Maintain lab environmentsMentor less experienced test engineersWork in accordance with SOPs Education Required:Bachelor of Science Degree (or higher) in engineering discipline or Physics. Minimum of 8 years experience in a software / system integration or test environmentTechnical Skills Required:Comfortable in a test lab environmentFamiliarity with Microsoft tools and Microsoft Windows applicationsAbility to manage a dynamic workload in a fast-paced environmentExperience with software, hardware, and system test methodologiesExperience with software, hardware, and system integration processesExperience in testing SW applications (developing test steps, conducting test, and documenting results)Experience in performing witnessed testing for internal and external customersUnderstand the use of configuration management, requirement management systems, and automated test toolsFamiliarity with SUN Solaris, UNIX, Linux and real-time operating systemsFamiliarity with TCP/IP networkingFamiliarity with DOORS, Razor, and JIRAKnowledge of air traffic control products and proceduresAbility to write test software in embedded and Windows-based environments, such as Matlab, Java, Labview, and C/C++Personal SkillsExchange relevant technical and programmatic information with other disciplinesDemonstrate responsibility, positive attitude, and confidenceDemonstrate self-motivationBe energetic and inquisitiveDemonstrate effective organizational skillsPossess strong interpersonal and teamwork skillsDemonstrate time management skills and clear, concise, and correct written and verbal communicationPossess high standards of quality, attention to detail, and thoroughnessLearn quickly with minimal formal instructionInterface respectfully with supervisors, teammates, coworkers, customers, and subcontractorsUnderstand the need for control and repeatabilityDemonstrate willingness to see tasks through to completionSensis provides an excellent working environment offering advancement and professional growth opportunities, competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package.
