Provides in-depth technical guidance for the design, development, organization, and participation in site surveys for system integration and installations. Assesses and documents current site configuration and user requirements. 2. Designs and optimizes network topologies.3. Analyzes existing and develops new hardware layouts, communication connectivity requirements, environmental requirements and prepares engineering change proposal data, hardware and other acquisition requirements.4. Provides highly skilled technical assistance to the integration/installation of computer and communications equipment and systems; coordinates with other participants (including those from other Government Agencies/Contractors) to ensure technical requirements are met.5. Provides direct support to the preparation and analysis of Engineering Change Plans (ECP) and technical design packages. 6. Develops installation schedules and leads preparation of documentation configuration changes at each site. Prepares post installation configured item databases, physical configuration audits, and changes to documentation packages.7. Reviews all facility plans, installation plans, and supporting descriptive documentation for Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) to ensure that installations are in accordance with INSCOM installation procedures and safety requirements.8. Deploys on short notice when required in support of U.S. military operations. This may require travel to potential conflict areas and living in austere conditions9. Other duties as assignedSupervisionThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.Minimum Qualifications• Specialized experience including analysis, design, and installation of computer based intelligence and electronic systems, analysis, design, and installation of local area networks, and analysis and installation of specialized communications systems.• Perform design studies where the design objectives are defined by a detail physical specification.• Capability to develop and accumulate raw data measurements from physical inspections of electronic equipment and facilities and transforming the data into design layouts.• Ability to produce detailed electrical, electronic schematics utilizing operation of a CADD system, to include I/O devices and to produce mechanical drawings from layouts.• Knowledge of electrical wiring, grounding, and cables/connectors, including fiber optic cable terminations and splicing, and Category V requirements.• Ability to perform installations of technical/utility/UPS power systems and must be familiar with grounding principles.• Familiarity with red/black installation requirements.• Knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) principles and apply them to the installation and operation of mission and support systems.• Experience in calibrating test and measurement equipment.Education and/or Experience• An Associates degree in electronics or software engineering or equivalent military advanced technical training, with a minimum of eight years of technical experience support of complex electronic communications equipment.• Three years of technical experience with installation, de-installation and reconfiguration of electronic systems/equipment, equipment racks, cable trays, elevated computer type flooring, under-floor cable ducts, audio, fiber optics, RF, and control and power cables/connectors.Computer SkillsFive years of experience with unique U. S.
