Senior Engineer

The Systems Engineering Group (SEG) of QinetiQ North America provides high-value engineering, software solutions, logistics information management, flight training and IT technical support services to the U.S. Department of Defense, allied governments and select commercial partners.

The Senior Engineer will support and maintain software domain description documentation and the Open Architecture Computing Environment (OACE). The Senior Engineer will work to establish and execute software policies and procedures for system software development and integration of newly developed system software with legacy software. The Senior Engineer will provide oversight and support of Prototype Technology Demonstration events. This support will include: developing objectives/requirements, defining success criteria and metrics, defining the test architecture, determining the appropriate scenario(s), developing/maintaining schedules, developing Technology Demonstration Plans, and participating in actual Technology Demonstration execution as needed. The Senior Engineer will support Risk Management activities for all software-related risk areas. This support will include: identifying potential software risk areas, quantifying risks to determine the probability and consequence of occurrence, developing detailed mitigation steps utilizing the PO Risk Database, developing Contingency Plans, defining Closure/Retirement criteria, and supporting the PO Risk Working Group (RWG) and Risk Management Board (RMB). The Senior Engineer will interface with external Government entities to define JTAL development and integration requirements. The Senior Engineer will participate and interact in SE and Test WIPTs and Engineering Review Boards (ERBs) as needed. Planning and support is anticipated to extend from the Technology Development Phase through Production and Deployment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Support software domain description documentation development and OACE maintenance.2. Support Prototype Technology Demonstration events.3. Support Risk Management for software-related risk areas.4. Provide software support to SE/Test WIPTs and ERBs.5. Interface with external agencies as needed.QualificationsEducation and Experience: A four-year, Bachelor?s degree from an ABET accredited college in General Engineering or a Bachelor of Science degree is required. Typical degrees for this position include, but are not limited to BSEE, BSCS. This senior-level position requires a minimum of 10 years combined Government/DoD contractor experience, of which 5 years is required in performing the essential duties listed above. Two years project office support experience is also required.Security Requirements: 1. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. 2.
