Senior Business Analyst

The Systems Engineering Group (SEG) of QinetiQ North America provides high-value engineering, software solutions, logistics information management, flight training and IT technical support services to the U.S. Department of Defense, allied governments and select commercial partners.

Responsibilities:1. Accomplish detailed variance analysis for all assigned projects and provide management with consultative planning and analysis services that enables effective decision making2. Prepares and presents complex reports and/or expenditure forecasts for budget or other management purposes3. Review assigned contracts prior to Set Up in Costpoint, i.e., contract and funded values, billing instructions, deliverables, fixed rates, etc.4. Input and maintain setup of projects in Costpoint5. Coordinate, prepare and distribute contractual deliverables as required6. Provide management with support in direct and indirect budgeting/forecasting and monitor to assure adherence to these objectives7. Provide interpretation and application of the corporate accounting system and business operation policies and practices to the managers8. Guides lower level business analysts and support staff Leadership and Communication Skills: 1. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness 2. Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations 3. Listen and seek clarifications; respond well to questions 4. Improve processes, products, and services 5. Read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, data, and analytical outcomes 6. Read, analyze, and interpret corporate policy, technical procedures, and governmental regulations 7. Write reports and business correspondence in a clear and informative style 8. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and when appropriate, the general public. 9. Solicit and apply internal customer feedbackQualificationsEducation and Experience:1. Bachelor?s degree 2. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a business related area3. Has knowledge of commonly used principals, practices, and procedures used for business analysis and project management4. Contract management experience with a Department of Defense agency is a plus. 5. Experience with Cost Point, Cognos© products such as Impromtu© or PowerPlay©, and PROPHIX© is a plus.
