Support the sales force, from a technical applications engineering manner, with primary focus on aerospace structural components and aerospace engine component manufacturing for test cuts, machine demonstrations, customer startup/training, technical transfer of knowledge, and aerospace type turnkeys.  Focused knowledge and experience with multi-axis (3, 4, and 5 axis), high speed machining techniques and disciplines.

 

RESPONSIBILITIESPerform test cuts and machine demonstrations for aerospace type parts both structural and engine components.Provide applications engineering support to sales force by visiting customer facilities and assisting with potential machine and turnkey proposals.Setup, generate NC program, build tooling, prove-out, and complete test cut requests from sales inquiries leading to machine orders.On occasion, perform all aspects of a turnkey project including tools, fixtures, NC part programming, prove-out and runoff of aerospace type components both at my clients facility and at the customer's facility.Perform customer startup training and transfer of technical knowledge on newly sold  equipment at the customer's facility.Capable of teaching and conducting technical transfer classes specifically focused on aerospace type components and application of high speed machining techniques.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS – To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 Four-year bachelor's degree with 7 or more years of experience in a technical area or 10 years or more related experience.4 to 6 years experience with aerospace structural and/or engine type component manufacturing.4 to 6 years experience with setup, programming, and operation of multi-axis (3, 4, & 5 axis) machining centers.2 to 4 years proficiency in the use of a CAD/CAM system to generate multi-axis NC programs.Ability and knowledge to teach and contuct training classes focused on technical transfer of high speed machining relative to aerospace type components.Ability to interface with potential customers and present a professional image.Techical aptitude or knowledge and logical troubleshooting skillsRational decision-making skillFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products is required.Willingness to travel, mostly short duration, 25 to 40%.

While my client is in Ohio and offers an excellent relocation package they would also consider allowing a person to work from a remote location.  Working from a remote location will require more overbight travel.
