Application/Sales EngineerThe Petroleum Division of Client's Power Systems Marketing Division has an opening for an Application & Installation Engineer. This position involves the selection of engine, transmission or gensets for use in Petroleum applications. This position involves addressing technical questions about these products and creating custom quotes if they do not have something currently in their price list that meets the customers requirements. This position provides technical expertise and pre-sale commercial support for Gas and Diesel engine applications for the Worldwide Petroleum business. Responsibilities include development of special quotes as needed to support sales opportunities and the responsibility for ensuring the product will satisfy the customer requirements and is correctly applied. Provides technical support to global customers including resolution of complex application and installation issues, specification interpretation, quotation reviews, complex project application management, and coordination with other Engineering groups. This position is also responsible for supporting Petroleum product development projects, preparing and conducting product/application training and presentations, coordinating and implementing Application and Installation Guide changes and improvements. Travel is required to: support sales opportunities with customers worldwide, assist in the resolution of engine installation problems in the field, attend Petroleum Industry trade shows, conduct training, or provide presentations to customers.*Not all positions may be currently available, please contact Volt for more information. Requirements: Requirements:The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year(s) of work experience relevant to the position; excellent longevity in previous positions, and a degree or certificate is highly preferred. A four-year engineering degree (mechanical engineering preferred) is required. Candidates must also have experience working with complete engine/transmission/generator systems or application of these products. Candidates with Petroleum industry experience are highly desired. Strong customer focus, good written and oral communication skills - including presentation skills, multitasking ability, organizational skills, and computer. The ability to work in a team environment and with diverse groups of employees and customers; the ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other units, customers and suppliers. A self-starter with strong technical leadership skills plus the initiative and ability to solve problems on their own through analysis, information gathering, and learning in order to design, develop, and implement solutions. A high energy level and the commitment to provide prompt, high quality responses to customer requests which may often require work and travel outside regular office hours. Technical knowledge of engines, mechanical systems, electrical power systems, or electronic controls. Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude together with an ability to develop and articulate product concepts.
