Our rapid growth has created a need for an experienced Applications Developer to support extending our ERP systems.  All roles at SpaceX are either directly or indirectly related to the support of our family of spacecraft including the Falcon 1 and Falcon 9 launch vehicles, and the Dragon Capsule. 

 

The Safety/Environmental Engineering position at our Texas Test Site will coordinate and execute the site specific safety and environmental programs as well as incorporate the company wide safety program in collaboration with the Safety team at our headquarters in Hawthorne, California. This position requires a self–starting professional experienced in initiating and maintaining safety and environmental programs according to the OSHA and the EPA regulations.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Develop, implement and maintain site specific safety policies, and coordinate with the Safety team at headquarters to develop and implement safety policies company wide Develop, implement and maintain site specific environmental policiesDevelop, implement and maintain safety contingency plans and site evacuation plansConduct and/or coordinate employee safety and environmental training programs and emergency response training drillsDevelop a proactive approach and project plan to prevent and solve workplace safety issues

Required Skills/Experience:

 

Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, preferred; or equivalent industry experience

Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local safety; transportation and environmental regulations

General knowledge in Environmental Hazards and Safety disciplines with experience in safety, ergonomics, environmental compliance and industrial hygiene required

Desired Skills/Experience:

 3 or more years of experience in the design, development and general operational oversight of environmental, health and safety disciplines required; Aerospace experience is preferredKnowledge of specific Federal and State environmental laws and regulations required. This knowledge as it  applies to the Aerospace industry is a plus
