SM-3 6DOF Simulation Development and Analysis Description:Description:System Performance Analyst and High Fidelity 6-DOF Simulation Developer for Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) and Standard Missile-3 (SM-3). Duties:- Evaluate Aegis BMD SM-3 engagement performance using APL High Fidelity 6-DOF simulation. Assess performance versus threat requirements for current and future Aegis BMD baselines. Assess performance versus real world threats as needed.- Work closely with APL and contractor engineers to develop and integrate new models into the 6-DOF simulation and assess performance at a system level. - Support Aegis BMD Flight Test events with scenario planning, 6-DOF performance predictions and range safety analysis.- Provide high visibility presentations to sponsor at design reviews and flight test reviews. Leadership opportunities for 6-DOF development of new Aegis BMD and SM-3 baselines.Qualifications:Required:BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field. 5 years experience in high fidelity digital simulation development and analysis. Modeling Experience in one of the following areas: Missile Guidance, Navigation, Control, Propulsion, Aerodynamics, Radar, IR sensors, Fire Control. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proficient in Matlab, Fortan and/or C++ programming. Occasional travel to contractor and sponsor locations.Desired:MS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience in Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense and Standard Missile 3.
