Our client is seeking a qualified System and Application Administration professional for a long-term contract position in Pratica di Mare, Italy.

Start Date: We would like a qualified person with system/application training to be at Pratica di Mare starting October 27, 2008. 

In this key role, you will perform IT service delivery support at the Pratica di Mare site including technical and administrative support of applications, data bases, desktops, servers, and network.

Additional Responsibilities:Apply maintenance and system knowledge to mentor and train maintenance personnel in the use of the site maintenance management systems. Administer data bases using Oracle software.Perform problem isolation and resolution for user IT issues.  Administer windows based servers. Understand partner's business needs and issues and initiate action as appropriate. Perform liaison role with company IT Services, peer organizations, and customer organizations to resolve issues.  Provide testing and certification of new IT applications, products and services as appropriate. Audit performance to increase quality and reduce variation and rework. Ensure technical procedures are documented and deployed.

Application software specific training will be provided to the incumbent. The position is located at the company office at the Italian Air Force base at Pratica di Mare, Italy. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Italy and be export authorized to work on Tanker Italy.

Requirements:Prefer advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent experienceTechnical certification desired 6 or more years of experience in aircraft maintenance or related disciplineCandidate must be familiar with automated systems supporting maintenance management programs or related applicationsKnowledge of aircraft maintenance processes as it relates recording of aircraft maintenance
activitiesExperience with using an automated maintenance management system is a plusExperience in IT end user support, server administration or network administration is desirableCandidate must demonstrate excellent English written/verbal communications skillsThe ability to speak Italian is highly desirableSolid working knowledge of relational database management systems to include database schemas and schema objects, database configuration, transactional processing, database backup and restoration, and database securityOracle 9i or 10g experience is a plusDemonstrated proficiency in problem analysis techniques and project managementDemonstrated proficiency in the use of standard applicable computing disciplines including change, configuration, problem, performance, and operational management



This long-term contract offers a competitive compensation of $40 - $45 per hour, per diem, travel expenses, and some housing allowance.
