Responsible for technical interface with the customer on all processes involved in software system engineering. System engineering tasks include: requirements definition, functional analysis, trade studies, design synthesis, configuration management, verification and validation, and cost, risk, and logistics analyses. SIAT Software Acquisition Engineer completes or manages the logical systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Will work with the design, development, integration, test and logistics support teams. Must have experience with multiple systems engineering disciplines and system engineering support throughout the system life cycle.QualificationsBachelors degree and 10 years of System Engineering experience with increasing responsibility. A Masters degree is preferred.Candidates for this position will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship required. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP), broad Systems Engineering experience with significant concentration on Human System Integration (HSI) and software development process management. The candidate should be familiar with the Software Development Life Cycle approach and processes as practiced on Department of Defense MDAPs. An understanding of software acquisition/development risks, DoD regulatory and technical frameworks, software and system architectures, and software development life cycle and integration processes, software standards, measurements, testing, security, quality issues, process maturity, as well as best practices for the management of software-intensive systems will be a plus. An understanding of the challenges and practices of HSI of man in the loop systems in general, and as HSI specifically is applied to software driven systems is highly desirable. Prior experience in DoD Major Systems Acquisition and specifically the Navy / Marine Corps practice in support of the Marine Air/Ground Task Force (MAGTF) will be a plus.
