Retirement Plan Manager Description:The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Senior Retirement Plan Analyst who will be responsible for managing the administration and compliance of the Laboratorys 403(b) and Money Purchase pension plans.Responsibilities include: Act as advisor to APL Pension Committee, preparing reports for committee on key plan statistics, providing guidance and insight on regulatory changes and industry trends. Conduct annual nondiscrimination testing. Maintain compliance of the plans by providing guidance to pension administrators and participants in the applicable regulations and interpretation of plan documents. Stay abreast of regulatory changes in the pension arena. Primary responsibility for vendor management and establishment of positive relationships with vendors. Ensure internal processes are efficient and resources of vendors are appropriately utilized. Counsel staff members approaching retirement regarding options for distribution under the plan. Act as lead in the preparation and execution of QDRO and approval of withdrawal requests.Qualifications:Required:Bachelors degree or equivalent. Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in the administration and management of defined contribution pension plans, preferably 403(b) and/or money purchase plans. Thorough understanding of applicable pension regulations. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities/projects. Strong written and verbal communications skills, presentation skills and proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Prior experience managing pension vendors and interpreting plan documents.Desired:Masters degree or equivalent.
