Job Description:

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Weapons Division is seeking highly motivated Reliability Engineers to support various NAVAIR Weapons Programs with Technical Project Offices (TPOs) at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD). Ability to provide technical, proactive, and communicative support to the TPOs, Integrated Program Teams (IPTs), PMA/Class Desks, and Contractors with knowledge in Reliability & Maintainability (R&M), Test & Evaluation (T&E), Components Engineering, and Built-In-Test (BiT) Diagnostics. The scope of duties varies based on the complexity of the weapon system and may include: Development/review of R&M requirements for Contracts, SOWs, SPECs, Test Plans; Reliability Program Planning; Reliability Analysis (Predictions, Modeling, Mission/Life Cycle Profile Definition, Built-In-Test Diagnostics, Environmental Design Criteria, Electrical Stress Analysis, Sneak Circuit Analysis; FMECA);  Electronic Parts/Components Management support (Selection, Application, Derating, Obsolescence, ESS); Reliability Testing (RDGT, RDT, TAAF, HALT); Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action (FRACAS); Reliability Assessments/Readiness Evaluation (DT&E, OT&E, Fleet);  Fleet Reliability Support/Sustainment.

 

Skills:
Ability to define, implement, and maintain R&M engineering support to planning, design development, T&E, and acquisition of weapon systems, components, and support equipment.  Ability to perform risk analysis.  Self Starter and able to work as a team member.  Excellent verbal and oral communication skills.

 

Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) secret clearance.

 

Education Requirements:

BSEE or Equivalent

* Develop and apply new technology.
