Quality Project EngineerDescription: Our client has an exciting opportunity for a motivational team member with mechanical manufacturing, and quality engineering background. Experience in advanced product quality planning, aerospace quality system assessments, supplier development, and project management. Duties will include, but not be limited to: Ensures timely and efficient completion of detailed quality engineering project phases or major projects to achieve division quality objectives. Plans, schedules, and coordinates efforts of the quality engineering staff or acts as an individual researcher or functional expert on projects with significant customer and business impact. Responsibilities 1. Promote advanced quality systems (Industrial Process Control Assessments, Six Sigma projects, formal problem solving / RCCA, Internal CAB and Supplier CAB). 2. Assess and improve effectiveness of Program management & Engineering processes. 3. Apply knowledge and experience of APQP tools, variability reduction, and lean methods, etc. to drive quality improvement. 4. Provide key Division representation on Aerospace Group initiatives, and lead complex quality engineering projects. 5. Lead internal assessments, supplier quality system development, and external Customer reviews (Mgt reviews, AS9100 3rd party assessments, internal assessments, auditor training, product quality analyses, and customer quality correspondence). Requirements: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through eight or more years of increasingly responsible related experience. American Society for Quality certification desired. Strong technical understanding of all quality system requirements. Technical background in manufacturing, materials, special processes, engineering, producibility, and IPD teams. Strong quality auditor credentials with ability to lead the division internal audit program, including assessing effectiveness of Operations and Lean Product Development processes. Analytical, logical, experience in quality program management, and makes sound decisions. Collaborative soft skills, able to lead teams, enthusiastic toward solving problems, positively empower team members.
