Quality Manager Naval Aircraft Maintenance Programs

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that a quality program is in place that meets or exceeds the standards required by our customer and/or the company. Reports directly to the General Manager – Navy Programs.  Administers the program from a QA perspective in accordance with standards and contract requirements. Maintains daily liaison with the General Manager – Navy Programs, Program Managers, and Government team members and on site personnel to address issues relative to the Quality Program.  Performs quality liaison activities including coordination and solution of supplier and customer quality problems.  Performs supplier evaluations including facility surveys etc. Determines the level and type of quality audits needed through daily statistical analysis of problem areas. Establishes and maintains a quality assurance program.  Prepares and publishes written procedures that document the quality assurance program  Establishes necessary controls to ensure that the quality procedures apply to each site and ensure the production of acceptable end products meets and/or exceeds customer specifications and contractual requirements.  Reviews contract requirements and statement of work to ensure compliance and reviews revisions as required. Performs quality review of proposed contract changes, modifications, subcontracts and purchase orders.  Ensures all required technical data is made available at each site and is properly maintained. Establishes statistical benchmarks for monitoring appropriate program performance. Monitors the trend analysis program to identify adverse trends.  Formulates and maintains QA objectives and coordinates objectives with Site Managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to program quality and reliability. Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.  Monitors the performance of assigned staff to ensure compliance with established standards.  Liaison with customers and suppliers for support of the program. Researches technical data, FAA files to ensure airworthiness of acceptable applications.  Coordinates modification of components for the program.  Notifies customers of potential problems and trouble areas.  Recommends and maintains uniform procedures and standards of operation for the program.  Evaluates the efficiency of quality operations within the program and recommends appropriate changes.  Assists with recruitment, selection, discipline and training of personnel.  Maintains appropriate liaison with suppliers, local, state and federal oversight agencies.  Implements in-service training programs to communicate current information and procedures to employees under incumbent supervision and evaluates training programs to determine their effective- ness in improving staff performance.  Provides guidance to subordinate employees and peers when appropriate, collaborating and cooperating with other members of the management team.  Implements the performance appraisal system for employees under supervision.  Greets visitors, clients and customers.  Exhibits positive courteous behavior with customers, businesses and coworkers.  Assists coworkers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.  Follows all safety procedures and practices as established by the Company and regulatory bodies.  This job does have supervisory responsibilities.  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Graduation from a standard four (4) year high school or equivalent (GED) and ten (10) years of experience in work directly-related to Aircraft Maintenance.  CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P License required; FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) desired.  Apply through the following site:: https://www4.recruitingcenter.net/clients/l3/publicjobs/canviewjobs.cfm?
