Summary of Job Content

Performs source, receiving, in-process, final or tool inspection on a wide variety of in-house or supplier machined, welded, fabricated or processed parts, tools or assemblies, as necessary. Participates on project teams to prevent or solve manufacturing or quality problems, reduce cycle times, cost reduction, or any other project, as necessary  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inspects for dimensional accuracy, process and quality operations to assure conformance to customer, engineering, and quality requirements.

Performs first article inspection on machined, fabricated or welded parts, tools, or assemblies.

Performs source or receiving inspection per purchase order, specification, and/or drawing requirements.

Performs in-process and final inspection per Work Order Instructions (WOI) and established procedures.

Interprets engineering drawings and dimensional using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles.

Verifies part and/or tool dimensions on machinery using digital readouts and indicators, or using CNC touch probe system reports.

Performs trigonometric and geometric math calculations to obtain profile, form angularity and dimensional inspection data.

Verifies that layup, wrap, cure, machine set ups, high temperature processes, machining, bonding, painting, welding, or assembly operations are under control and meet specified requirements.

Performs and assists in internal and external audits. Performs and assists in product and process audits.

  Preferred Qualifications:

Education and/or/Experience: Certificate in Inspection from any accredited college or technical school, and one to two years related experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office, and MRP Systems.
