Quality Engineer (Family -- E, F, G)

GDLS provides a full spectrum of land and amphibious combat systems, subsystems, and components worldwide. The company designs and builds armored vehicles and subsystems for the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and international customers, and is the defense industry's largest supplier of armored military vehicles.Description of Work: The Quality Engineer opportunities offer performance-based potential for future advancement encompassing areas of key leadership and responsibilities in a dynamic, team-based environment.Responsibilities of these challenging positions include:- Developing program reports and statuses as required to assist Manufacturing and Quality to achieve schedule, cost and nonconformance goals.- Assuring adherence to Quality and Plant Procedures.- Performing statistical or trend analysis on product performance as required as well as internal audits as scheduled.- Organizing technical data into quality work instructions or quality procedures.- Evaluating non-conformances to insure rework/repair/use-as-is dispositions meet Plant and Quality procedures.- Using proven team-based problem solving skills to bring issues to resolution. Job Requirements: - U. S. citizenship is required. - The minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor of Science degree -- Mechanical or Quality Engineering preferred.Successful candidates will also possess:- Technical expertise in Manufacturing, Quality, or Design processes.- Ability to work in production environment -- climbing, walking, lifting (50 pounds), stooping, bending, etc.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to read blueprints and interpret quality requirements.- Proficient PC skills in MS Word and Excel. Experience in Microsoft Access programming is highly desired.- Ability to obtain a government-issued security clearance. - Ability to meet entry requirements for military vehicles.Possessing the following is desirable and would be considered a plus:- Significant Quality experience within GD reviewing drawings, technical data, military specifications and military contracts (i.e., TIPQA). - Prior experience with TIPQA Quality Systems or similar (such as Electronic Quality Management Systems).- Familiarity with MRP and Production Planning.- Experience with the manufacture or design of military land or water vehicles.- Experience working with designs in a model-based environment.-- Experience in statistical analysis of data trending (Green Belt type projects).- Knowledge of ISO 9001-2000 and/or TS16949.- Experience as an Internal or External ISO Auditor preferred.- Some overtime and travel may be required.Required Education: BSSubmit Your Resume Online NowGeneral Dynamics Land Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer Job Title: Â Quality Engineer (Family -- E, F, G) Location: Â Northwest Job Category: Â Engineering Requisition Number: Â LIM-LE-08-6342 Career Level: Â Experienced (Non-Manager)
