Quality Engineer

Quality EngineerDescription: This local manufacturing company in Kent, WA is a leader in state-of-the-art, high-temperature, high-strength sheet metal designs and fabrications for the aerospace industry is seeking a QUALITY ENGINEER. Excellent opportunity for a recent gradate with Welding/Metallurgical emphasis. This position will be responsible for the improvement of welding processes and technical quality planning, including review of contract requirements, designs, change orders, specifications and work orders. Ensuring that EMFCO and subtier comply with customer quality and special process requirements. Volt is an EOE. Requirements: You must be able to prepare and maintain QA procedures, instructions and end-item inspection plans. Obtain required Customer and FAA approvals of these plans. Conduct audits with Customer and FAA Representatives. Must be able to review and approve purchase orders, blueprints and customer specifications for critical, major and minor characteristics and verifies that quality instructions and plans meet design requirements. Will also follow up on corrective actions plans for suppliers. Actively involved in continuous improvement efforts for product design and manufacturing techniques. Welding, Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering degree or equivalent experience. Prefer background in GTAW, PAW, RW and related welding processes. Must be able to interpret blueprints, including geometric tolerancing. Proficient at problem solving and working with Customer/FAA specifications and quality requirements. Must have excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with all levels of internal and external personnel. Hands-on with strong mechanical aptitude, and capable of successfully balancing both the technical and administrative aspects of the position.
