Quality Assurance Manager
Johnstown PA based DOD contract manufacturing facility seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager. Candidate must be able to Develop and implement a quality systems program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards. Maintains a suitable and efficiently implemented quality system according to ISO 9001-2000 regulations. Revises, updates, and approves new or updated/revised quality processes and/or procedures. Develops and maintains a supplier quality index, utilizing statistical control programs, to assure that only high-quality vendors are retained. Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems. Handles any customer complaints, claims and faults by suppliers. Establishes a quality staff and supports the plant in training and technical troubleshooting. Coordinates all sample submissions and engineering changes. Initiates any follow-up actions for quality improvementBachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in Quality, Business or a related field of study.Certified Auditor, Lean Mfg. and Six Sigma certifications a plus.10+ years of experience in Quality management; preferably in a manufacturing environmentDepartment of Defense background preferredPrior supervision experience necessary.Ability to speak, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
